JOHANNESBURG – Often born to families that are hearing, navigating a world with someone who is deaf or hard of hearing can be taxing.
This challenge is often worsened when faced with social ills, like gender-based violence.

Initiatives like the Neema Foundation Silent Walk & Run, held during Deaf Awareness Month, aim to bring the two worlds closer.
